The picturesque fishing village of BAHIA ASUNCION is located on the west coast of the mid Baja Peninsula in the heart of the Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve (the largest reserve in all Latin America!). This friendly town is situated on a long sandy beach, fantastic for swimming, boogie boarding, running, beach sports, and excellent fishing in pangas, off the rocks, spearfishing and surf casting.
Shari Bony and her husband operate a B&B here, interestingly the La Bufadora Inn but far from Ensenada. Juan takes fishermen on fishing excursions while Shari escorts people on Whale watching adventures.
They have what I call an “All Inclusive Family Enterprise.” Listen to the Podcast and find out more about this area of Baja Sur.
This is a Solo presentation giving an overview of the book, “Become an Expatriate-Retire to Sonora Mexico.” This is not an interview just the author speaking to the audience about his book. He also extracts reviews from Amazon and reads 3 of them in this Podcast.
In this, our first episode we’re interviewing Blanca Heil of La Bocana, BCS. You’re probably asking, “Where is La Bocana.” Well, its located in Baja Sur, off Hwy 1, near the Whale Watching town of San Ignacio & Santa Rosalia..
You’ve probably never heard of it because it is not a very popular retirement or tourist location as is Puerto Vallarta, La Paz, Mazatlan, Playa Del Carmen and others.
Listen to this Podcast to learn what Blanca and her husband Les do to ward off boredom. They built a small hotel but there’s more to their story. Blanca has some interesting projects.
